Paddle Maine Monday: Frenchman's Bay

Kayaking on the peaceful side of Frenchman's Bay allows you to avoid the crowds and boat traffic near Acadia National Park. This adventure provides breathtaking views of Acadia National Park and the eastern coast of the Schoodic Peninsula. Starting from Sorrento Harbor, we will explore the rugged coastlines of Dram, Prebble, and Calf islands. A short crossing will take us to Stave Island. We will continue our journey along the Eastern shore and land on a cobblestone beach at the southern end of the island. From there, we can either retrace our path, circumnavigate Stave, or paddle along the eastern coast of Jordan's Island before returning. Our route choice will depend on the wind and tides.

Who This Trip Is For

This is an intermediate tour. Participants should have some prior sea kayaking experience. We will review paddling technique prior to launching.
