About the event

The 100 Mile Wilderness is the most remote and rugged section of the Appalachian Trail, stretching from Monson to Abol Bridge at the base of Mount Katahdin. This iconic 100-mile trek offers breathtaking views, winds through dense forests, over steep mountain ranges, and past pristine lakes and streams.

Location: We will start our journey in Monson, Maine and finish 100 miles later at Abol Bridge

Terrain: This iconic section of the Appalachian trail includes: Rocky climbs, potential for muddy paths, stream crossings, bog bridges, and old logging roads

Scenery: Ancient forests, mountain views, numerous ponds and lakes, and abundant wildlife (including moose and black bears). Considered the most remote section of the Appalachian Trail it is a true backcountry experience.  It offers peace, solitude, and spectacular views.

We will begin our trek in Monson at Shaw’s Hiker Hostel where we will enjoy a comfortable night sleep and a hearty breakfast on day one…
